My client is a leading multinational software and technology company with an office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

About the role

Reporting to the IT manager, you will be part of a dynamic team of Database Engineer and who is accountable for the implementation and support of SQL Server databases in web application environments.

Engineer will function in both implementations and support stages and will provide services in a variety of areas including, but not limited to: database architecture & design, application support, security, and best practices documentation.

Duties

• Responsible for activities involved in the analysis, design, development, troubleshooting, debugging and maintenance of enterprise, high-volume, transactional systems.

• Also responsible for formulating and implementing the team's technical vision, providing hands-on insight into system architecture, data software development and architectural design

• Establishes to enforce database management systems, standards, guidelines and quality assurance for database deliverables, such as conceptual design, logical data model capacity planning, external data interface specs, data loading, data maintenance plan and security policies.

• Collaborates with data modellers and facilitate interaction between DBAs and data modellers for logical and physical data models. Determine appropriateness of data storage, archive, purge and backup strategies

• Database designing, database performance, management and tuning experience

• Capable of working proficiently at both strategic and tactical aspects of a project. Ability to code complex programs and derive logical processes

• Capable of communicating in both form to the level of published.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in the area of Microsoft SQL (2008, 2012 and 2014).

• Experience in Oracle and MySQL is a great advantage.

• Actively interface with other teams to gather requirements, design, code, debug, document, implement and maintain various DB projects

• Effective SQL Server Store Procedures code design, development together with other area of database optimization and performance tuning

• Support data transfers using DTS packages (ETL

• Highly motivated self-starter, detail and quality oriented and able to work independently and able to self-manage and required to lead certain database projects

• Data modeling from logical to physical of database architecture

• Programming experience with emphasis on designing complex t-sql and .Net procedures that scale well and are optimized for use in a high volume environment

• Ability to perform moderately complex DBA tasks including data migrations, etl operations, replication, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

• Experience with Analysis Services, SSIS, Service Broker, and Reporting services a plus

• Experience with Object Oriented programming techniques and concepts a plus
