Job Description:
- Tax compliance in various jurisdictions within Asia Pacific region (corporate tax, indirect tax, withholding tax, etc.) including identification of any tax work processes could be improved /automated
- Review of corporate income tax / indirect tax / withholding tax returns (including tax computation, supporting documents, tax payment requisition, etc.)
- Review of provisional tax computations for tax provisioning / tax estimate purposes
- Monitoring tax status, tax estimates and tax instalment schemes
- Liaison with personnel of other departments for information extraction, document collation, payment requisition, etc.
- Liaison with external consultants and tax officials to resolve tax issues
- Tax advisory, Transfer Pricing / Tax Planning and Implementation
- Advising and assisting in implementation of tax efficient corporate structure, transfer pricing policy, invoicing structure, business model, etc.
- Coordinating the implementation of new set-ups, related companies transactions, inbound and outbound investments, new acquisitions, tax clearance, liquidation, etc.
- Review agreements to identify tax issues and make recommendations
- Ad-hoc tax researches Handle tax investigations/audits including liaison with external consultants and tax officers to resolve the matter
- Resolve tax related operational issues including to propose improvements (where applicable) to existing tax processes and structures to achieve tax efficiencies for the Group
- To ensure that tax recommendations are feasible to be implemented operationally while at the same time in compliance with the tax laws
- Communicate with relevant other departments to ensure tax compliance and proper implementation of new tax laws
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Finance/ Accountancy/Banking or equivalent
- Completed professional exams of tax and/or accounting institutes
- Minimum 8 years tax experience in a Big-4 accounting firm, or in a multinational organization with minimal 3 year experience in managerial role
- Knowledge of transfer pricing of Asia Pacific countries, mergers & acquisitions, restructuring, business set up and exit strategies will be in advantages
- Practical hands-on regional tax experience, well verse with Asia Pacific region
