Technical Sales Specialist (Mainframe - PreSales) - Petaling Jaya, SGR
•Supporting (onsite) pre-sale activity around the ASEAN region (Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines). Act as a z Systems technical consultant with responsibility for high level solution design and architectures
•Proactively develops a point of view that articulates the business values perspective clients could expect from the platform and identifies new opportunities for z Systems and be able to articulate the business advantages using the platform can bring
•Be personally responsible that the IBM solution is aligned to the client’s requirements and is fit for purpose, and must be able to Identify and proactively remove technical inhibitors to the sale of IBM solutions as early as possible
•Effectively establish meaningful partnerships with the CAMSS (Cloud, analytic s, mobile, socials, security) business units that position z Systems infrastructure solutions as a preferred choice
•Acts as the trusted advisor for all z Systems technical areas covering hardware, software products and solutions related to OS – z/OS (additionally z/VM, Linux, z/VSE will be plus)
•Defines, scopes, and executes technical sales accelerators (Demos, PoT, PoC, labs and Centres of Competency) with minimal supervision
•Educate clients on IBM product announcements and enhancements, and build local relationships with key ISVs, SI, MSPs, BPs where appropriate, and key business contacts inside clients. Provide z Systems skills transfer to sales and technical sales teams, Techline, Business Partners and Clients
•Acquire and apply industry knowledge and insight to drive client adoption of the latest releases of IBM Systems (software and hardware)
• Good spoken and written English skills
• Strong presentation skills, must be able to work and interact at C-level within IBM and Clients
• Deep understanding of IT infrastructures and IBM infrastructure solutions and be able to demonstrate z Systems solutions to clients with a clear story, product positioning and value proposition
•Have good understanding and knowledge of:
-z Systems HW Product range
-z Systems Solutions including High availability (Parallel Sysplex and GDPS)
-Knowledge and good skills on z/OS. z/VSE, z/VM and Linux Enterprise edition (RHEL, SUSE)
•Understanding and positioning of IBM Cloud, Analytics, Mobile, Social, Security) solutions for z Systems
•Highly skilled in product and technology with experience in performance & capacity planning, benchmarking, testing and POC, Systems migration and consolidation, Solution Assurance and TDA expertise
•Participate in technical reviews, product introduction / readiness, and Q&A support
•Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
