Senior M&E Engineer - Kuala Lumpur

My client is an integrated infrastructure developer with extensive international operations in countries including Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, Japan and China. The core businesses of the company cover utilities, construction contracting, property development and investments.


The Role –


As a Senior M&E Engineer you will work as part of the design team to perform and lead duties on various projects, deliver design and relevant support from initial concept planning, detail design and eventually commissioning. You will need to use your excellent interpersonal skills and you must have a proven ability to exceed client expectations. You will need to be flexible and be able to support the company in achieving their ambitious plans to further extend into new markets across Malaysia and regional countries.


Duties –


  • Co-ordinate with client, architect, C&S Engineers for issues related to M&E systems and performance.

  • Attend regular design co-ordination and site meetings.

  • Preparation of design plans to identify the time line of design output.

  • Liaise with M&E contract personel for tender and contract issue.

  • Conduct design work inclusive of design concept, design calculations, system selection, equipment sizing, system layout, operation and control.

  • Prepare M&E Design and co-ordination drawings.

  • Attend project coordination meetings.

  • Initiate design change request if required.

  • Assist site implementation team on M&E design issues.

  • Monitor and follow up of authorities approval.

  • Checking shop drawing and as building drawing.

  • Provide guidance to junior engineers.

  • Ensure good quality of design drawing and specification.

Skills and experience required –


  • Degree in Buidling Services, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Minimum of 7+ years in M&E design and project implementation experience construction or consultancy company.

  • Demonstrable experience of working on projects across a wide range of sectors.

  • Excellent time management skills with ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Membership of relevant professional body.

  • Proven ability to harness and develop strong client relationships.

  • Proficiency in AutoCad, or equivalent and design calculation packages.
