Our client is a multinational company within the manufacturing industry.  With the expansion of the business, they are currently looking for an experienced Financial Controller to be part of their team.


 


About the Role


 


The Financial controller  will be reporting to the Group Chief Financial Officer  and will be working closely with the regional finance managers. Your responsibilities include:


 


  • Required to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting on a monthly basis. In doing so, a review of the monthly results needs to be conducted to ensure all figures are correct. This is further strengthened by ensuring all balance sheet accounts are properly reconciled on time. Ensure full compliance with IFRS (local GAAP) and US GAAP. Supervise the preparation and transmission of various reports to meet the requirement of local management, region, corporate, audit committee, board of directors, auditors, authorities etc.

  • Ensure that a robust internal control structure is in place, functioning effectively, and appropriately tested in accordance with SOX as required.  Ensure that identified control and internal audit gaps are remediated on a timely basis.  Responsible for delivering tone-at-the top messaging to the plant leadership team and accounting/finance department at the plant as to the importance of internal controls. This is further strengthen by managing/participating in the quarterly letter of representation and SOX certification processes as well as be part of Internal Control Council member, to ensure that appropriate assurance procedures are completed and communicated to the business leadership team.

  • Provide leadership/strategic role in supporting country financial performance (EBIT and Free Cash Flow) including driving continuous improvement initiatives related to finance processes and systems to ensure sufficient support to the business operation to achieve financial objectives and participating on the preparation of Annual Operating Plan (AOP) within the finance team.

  • Provide leadership in all internal and external audits as well as in all matters with local, state, and regional authority on all tax-related matters. Any internal/external audit findings and tax issues need to be closed out in a timely manner.  The FC will also be primary leadership contact with the shared service center and will be responsible for ensuring that KPIs are met and to the exent they are not – proactively support improvements.

To be a Successful Candidate


 


  • Minimum 10-15 years in corporate accounting in a management position preferably in multi-national organizations.

  • Previous Finance Controller experience. Public accounting/auditing & manufacturing accounting experience.
