Duties & Responsibilities
Statutory Accounts
- Production of accurate monthly, quarterly and annual accounts to tight timetable. Including producing journals and performing reconciliations.
- With UK FD & FC, to investigate means to improve reporting timetable.
- Ensure maintenance of controls with particular reference to requirements of Sarbanes Oxley;
- Production of annual published accounts, ensuring compliance with all relevant Malaysian legislation; and deadlines.
- Liaison with company’s auditors.
Management Accounts
- Provision of monthly accounts to strict and tight deadline;
- Analysis of expenditure to monitor forecast changes and investigate variances. This will require liaison with company management outside the Finance function;
- Developing the annual budget;
- Producing product cost analysis;
- Provision of forecasts as and when required and at short notice;
- Cash requirements forecasting.
Tax
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of all Malaysian tax requirements;
- Review of all tax calculations made by external accountants. The accountant will need a basic understanding of Malaysian tax such as to be able to complete a the tax returns if so required;
- Preparation of monthly GST returns;
- Liaison with Malaysian tax advisors.
- Preparation and co-ordination of any withholding tax returns.
Payroll
- Responsible for completion of payroll using proprietary package;
- Monitor and check payroll;
- Keep up to date with current pay and tax legislation.
Skills & Experience
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor Degree or Professional Degree in Finance/ Accountancy.
- At least 5 years of working experience in related field is required, preferably in FMCG industry.
- Managers specializing in commercial finance with knowledge in SAP is an added advantage.
- Able to multitask and interact across business functions and levels.
- Possess strong analytical skills, well organized with good attention on details
