The Company


Client provides a comprehensive range of commercial banking products and services to individuals and corporate customers. The Bank’s business consists of three principal business segments: corporate banking, personal banking, and treasury operations.


The Role


Client is currently searching for a Credit Risk Management professional who will provide leadership and direction to the credit risk management group while ensuring that the credit process, policies and activities fall within the parameters of the organization’s policies and standards and appropriate legislation.


Duties


  1. Prepare risk comments on credit proposals for new client and existing clients to evaluate the corporate credit risk relating to credit terms and conditions for syndication loan, bilateral loan, and trade finance facilities. Addressed all relevant risk factors (industry, company, financial) and in compliance with established credit policies, procedures and standards.

  2. Performing annual credit reviews and analysis periodically for various financing transactions.

  3. Independently assign credit ratings assessment to borrowers, guarantors and other obligors in accordance with the internal rating procedures and other relevant rules as well as local regulatory requirements. Provide independent assessments and recommendations.

  4. Oversee the management and monitoring of the different Credit limits relevant to loans and securities for risk monitoring.

  5. Monitor and ensure the applicable credit terms and conditions, repayment capability, conduct of account, securities and guarantees are under control.

  6. Monitor for credit limit within control in the banking system(including set up limit for credit facility and collateral).

  7. Act as secretary of Credit Approval Committee and prepare meeting minutes for Management to sign. Handle enquiries & inspections from local internal / external auditors & BNM.

  8. Prepare regular and ad-hoc credit limit/credit application approval reports& to Management / Head Office / BNM as required.

  9. Liaise with the Branch front-office departments and back-office departments (including new transactions) in the process of revising the credit transactions operating procedures.

  10. Collect and maintenance of credit review file.

Skills & Experience


  • Minimum of 10 years proven, progressive and broad-based experience in credit risk management

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, related field or equivalent experience;

  • Strong analytical, planning, mathematical, problem-solving, communications, financial, technical, interpersonal and diplomatic skills;

  • Demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate and discuss credit risk in new, unusual or complex proposal structures.
