Job Description
-Perform administrative duties, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, tuning Install and configure application Middleware.
-Perform JAVA, WebSphere and application troubleshooting with Application Development staff or other administrators and assist with problem resolution.
-Provide technical support for troubleshooting problems Analyze system performance and makes recommendations for optimization.
-Perform installation, configuration, troubleshooting and tuning of IBM HTTP Server (Apache) including creating/modifying URL rewrites/redirects, creating and supporting multiple virtual host environments.
-Responsible for ensuring the WebSphere environment can be backed up and restored properly and is configured for the highest availability possible.
-Participate in hardware and software upgrades affecting supported environments Plan and implement changes to improve service and/or the environment.
-Maintain system availability, reliability and performance Respond to customer inquiries regarding technical support in assigned areas .
-Work with Application Areas to implement new applications into the environments Develop, document, and implement procedures that support, maintain and enhance the WebSphere AppServer environment.
-Diagnose and resolve complex problems in the WebSphere AppServer environments Perform as the escalation point for all issues not resolved by the other support staff Perform logical and physical appserver design (HA, multi-jvm, and multi-cell)
Qualifications
Expert in Websphere system administration.
