Business Manager - Selangor

Our client is one of the global leader in the field of testing, inspection, management system certification and product certification renowned for quality, integrity and technical excellence.


As part of their expansion plan in Malaysia, we have the pleasure of recruiting a Business Manager to manage their new lab centre within the Klang Valley.


You will also act as the Head of Real Estate services in the Malaysia office to provide mechanical or civil related testing for a wide variety of building related products such as curtain wall, windows, . You will support the senior management in managing the day-to- day testing operations including people management, customer management, lab management, sales support as well as new technical development.


Key responsibilities will involve:


  • Oversee the construction and setup of new laboratory including procurement of testing equipment

  • Lead a team of technical specialists to conduct testing and evaluation on building related products, materials as well as infrastructure. Key deliverables is to support the achievement of revenue and operating targets, through the following key tasks:

  1. Design and set-up text fixtures for customized test procedures

  2. Review test standards and procedures required for testing

  3. Ensure all system and procedures are in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025

  4. Meet or exceed service delivery through process efficiency and resource optimisation

  • Provide technical lead in business development and sales activities

  • Proactively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to:

  1. Providing technical expertise and assistance to clients, vendors and staff

  2. Collaborating with vendors and other departments to resolve engineering issues or testing requirements

  3. Coordinating with clients, suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure smooth execution of projects

  4. Collaboraing with sales as well as with in-business or cross-business units in pricing and customer management

  • Support management in conceptualising, planning and execution of both new technical development

  • Direct, coach and guide team members in their day-to- day operations and to drive and improve their testing capabilities

  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of various laboratories and their facilities

  • Lead in assigned process or quality improvement projects

The successful applicant:


  • Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with minimum 8 years of relevant working experience in a related technical environment

  • Knowledge and experience in building products related testing, product validation or developmental work

  • Those with prior work experience in a testing industry or role will be advantageous
