The Company


We are seeking a suitable and qualified candidate to fill our position of Risk Management & Operation Planning Officer. This position will report directly to the Head of Risk Management & Operation Planning Department.


The incumbent will be providing support to the Manager in preparing risk management reports used for monitoring the risk position, performance evaluation and checking of compliance with established limits and guidelines and checking the reports to identify any notable excesses. He will be assisting the Department Head in the preparation and submission of reports to the Head Office in Japanese and liaise with the Head Office in Japanese. He will also be responsible for downloading the market rates from Reuters to Panorama and Devon for valuation purpose and generate Market Maintenance Tickets for various currencies and double checking on Futures Dealing Report, USD and JPY Dealing Report (via Treasury Department), Facilities with Limit in Excess or Approved Excess Limit (via Loans Operations Department).


Job Requirements:
The person will be assisting the Manager in the operational planning matters across the branch businesses, the branch operational risk control matters, coordination and facilitating the implementation of new products and/or operating systems, investigating and recommending solutions on operation-related issues for the purpose of improvement of efficiency, resolution of gridlocks within the workflow and in accordance with Head Office rules and regulations. He will also be assisting in the follow-up on internal audit findings related to operations matters, planning and coordination of internal inspection, coordination of Branch-wide risk assessment and coordination and reporting of Operational irregularities to the Head Office in Japanese.


Applicants should possess a degree in Business Administration or Accountancy with about 6 years’ experience in the area of Risk Management and Operation Planning. The person needs to be familiar and have a good understanding of the business culture of Japanese organizations and Japanese business process. The nature of the job will require the person to be highly proficient in the Japanese Language, both spoken and written. They must also possess strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
