Procurement Manager
Responsibilities
- Develop an efficiently run procurement and stores department
- Identify preferred suppliers and develop genuine partnership looking at cost, quality, and delivery
- Ensure all the depots and outstations report material status on a regular/as required basis
- Review and amend procedures and controls as required
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Ensure effective key performance indicators are in place and regularly reviewed
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
- Set control and maintain minimum strategic stock levels
- Monitor and manage day to day activities in the procurement department ensuring all materials are available as required
Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, or equivalent in Project Management or Purchasing
- A varied and successful procurement background preferably in the rolling stock industry gained over the last 10 years
- Proven track record of delivering procurement projects on time and to budget.
- Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
- Ability to communicate strategies and concepts clearly to persuade and influence stakeholders
- Good level of competency in Microsoft tools
