Section Head Credit Rating & Modelling - Kuala Lumpur


The Company


A reputable Local Bank in Malaysia is seeking a committed Manager – Credit Rating to support the organization’s next phase of growth


The Role


Reporting directly to the Head of Department, the Manager/Section Head – Credit Rating Audit has the responsibility of managing and leading the Credit Department


Duties



  • Monitor retail model performance on an on­going basis to ensure models meet the Bank’s, BNM and FRS9 standards.




  • Update unit head on model performance, discuss issues and propose action plans or recommendations for model improvement / tweaking / re­development.




  • Automate report generation for a more timely and efficient reporting. Work on model performance issues/gaps as identified by model validators, BNM and internal/external auditors.




  • Participate in on­the­job training and knowledge transfer on model monitoring framework and techniques from external consultants.




  • Cross­functional knowledge sharing (e.g. SAS skills, modeling / monitoring framework and techniques acquired from different vendors) amongst model analysts, both retail and nonretail teams.




  • Provide technical guidance for junior members.



Skills & Experience


  • At least 5 years of working experience in credit risk model development/monitoring.

  • Strong in modeling methodologies and hands­on experience in model development/monitoring.

  • Strong knowledge of Basel II.

  • Good retail Banking knowledge and credit risk management.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills. Able to use statistical software and programming experience, such as SAS and SQL.

  • Able to lead 2 model analysts and provide technical guidance.
