Description


Position Purpose:


  • Accountable for the location food safety, location laboratory, quality programs, product specifications and other regulatory programs.

  • This position could be focused on one or a subset of regulatory, quality, food safety or laboratory responsibilities depending on the complexity of the facility of the location. The relative percentages of the responsibilities and duties will vary accordingly.

  • This position has accountability for a medium to high complexity facility or extended scope of responsibility.

Responsibilities:


  • Plan, coordinate and direct all food safety programs within the location to ensure compliance with company, governmental and customer requirements and expectations.

  • Plan, coordinate and direct all quality programs within the location to ensure compliance with company, governmental and customer requirements and expectations.

  • Plan, coordinate and direct all regulatory compliance programs within the location to ensure compliance with company, governmental and customer requirements and expectations.

  • Plan, coordinate and direct all laboratory programs within the location to ensure compliance with company, governmental and customer requirements and expectations.

  • Responsible for talent management including selection, training development, performance management, and engagement.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications


Requirements:


  • Bachelor Degree in Science

  • 4 to 5 years of Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory experience required. Supervisory experience required.

  • Basic Project Management skills – Applies basic structured, disciplined approach to planning, administering and completing projects

  • Basic Auditing/Compliance – Applies basic auditing and quality compliance skills to identify and manage risks/compliance.

  • Basic HACCP Knowledge/Implementation – Applies HAACP to identify & control food safety hazards

  • Basic Customer Specification Management – Interfaces effectively with customers; ensures products meet customer specifications; answers questions & solves customer problems

  • Basic Supplier Quality Assurance – Identifies & addresses basic supplier quality issues

  • Basic Plant Manufacturing Knowledge – Demonstrates basic practical knowledge of manufacturing processes & operations

  • Basic knowledge of food laws and regulations – Stays up-to-date and ensures compliance with food laws and regulations.

Preferred Requirements:


  • Bachelor Degree in Science preferred.

  • Registered chemist with Institute of Chemistry Malaysia

  • Working experience in edible oils and fats industry in supervisory position

  • Intermediate Auditing/Compliance – Applies intermediate auditing and quality compliance skills to identify and manage risks/compliance.

  • Intermediate Plant Manufacturing Knowledge – Demonstrates intermediate practical knowledge of manufacturing processes & operations

  • Basic Business Acumen – Applies basic business acumen to partner effectively with business counterparts

  • Basic Scientific Knowledge – Applies basic scientific knowledge & principles to identify & manage risk

  • Basic External Partnering – Builds basic relationships & negotiates effectively with external groups

  • Basic Training – Delivers basic learning solutions that engage leaners and provides desired outcomes

  • Basic Product Information/Documentation – Prepares product information and documentation that meet regulatory compliance requirements.
