As an HR Business Partner you will need to really understand our business, and be able to positively influence how the operational directors/managers and employees are able to achieve the business goals, whilst being aware of the challenges that may be faced.
The HR Business Partner will be in charge of the two operations based in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) . The HRBP will be responsible for developing and implementing an annual HR strategy aligned with local business priorities and global/regional HR priorities which will add value and help to achieve our strategic priorities. Through effectively tracking and analysing management information you will be able spot trends, and propose effective and timely interventions.
The key aspects for the role are :
Industrial relations:
- Planning, developing and implementing human resources activities in accordance with the Company policies, objectives and goals ; serving as an advisor to management on matters relating to industrial relations.
- Provide timely communication to manager and union personnel regarding new initiatives and policies, including relevant regulatory updates.
- Assist in the development, interpretation, application and implementation of disciplinary guideline, grievance handling, employee counselling, performance improvement plan and other disciplinary related matters.
- Carry out various awareness programs /activities to ensure that all employees are made known of such policies and guidelines
- Provide technical guidance and expertise to management team regarding policies, procedures and problems affecting employee relations
- Investigate, verify and analyse any misconduct/grievances and complaints from the employees and carry out domestic inquiry as and when required.
- Prepare investigation inquiry reports for disciplinary and execute IR interventions with line management and employee to ensure the risk is minimised.
- Maintain disciplinary action database
Employee Engagement :
- Drive and oversee all employee relations initiatives within the Company
- Contribute to the development of the Human Resources function by developing an ER strategy that is aligned with business needs.
- Develop structured programmes and activities to drive employees engagement
- With the support of marketing, administer manage and execute employee engagement surveys including conducting focus group discussions and partner with the respective stakeholder s.
- Prepare Employee engagement reports and updates for management
- Assess the quality of engagement through regular meetings or stay interviews with employees and provide feedback to the management and regional HR.
- Facilitate engagement meetings between employees and management
- Contribute to the continued improvement of the health of the organization by monitoring performance indicators, such as sickness absence, levels of grievances and work/life balance and develop initiatives and solutions to enable positive trends.
- Identify and implement positive employee relations programs, as well as involvement in employee branding initiatives in consultation with the relevant stakeholder groups that will lead to a more efficient and motivated workforce.
- Responsible for an updated and user friendly HR portal for all for all information and document retrieval
- Ensure that exit interviews are carried out and data is analysed for management review.
- Interpret and communicate personnel policy and procedure information to department heads, manager and employees
- Maintain the administration of all employee records, ensure compliance to audit, legal and business HR policy and procedural requirements at all times.
Effective Business Partner
The successful role holder will work closely with various stakeholders including the HR Shared Services, line managers and Directors. The role holder will not only ensure that the standard processes are implemented effectively, but will also provide advice and guidance on complex people / HR issues and broader business issues.
The HR Business Partner is there to act as a sounding board to the line managers, and to challenge the norm. The role also involves helping to devise and implement cultural and organisational change plans

Reporting Relationship The HR Business Partner will report into the HR Operations Manager.
