Production Support - Technical System Engineer - Cyberjaya, SGR

Job Description

IBM is looking for a Production Support – Technical Systems Engineer for Server Resource Management (SRM) Operation. This is a hands-on technical position that will join a team of Production Support Architects and Production Support Engineers that is responsible for supporting the SRM various products in the SRM team. This individual will fully support the production platform running on Windows, AIX, Linux servers, and VMWare hypervisors platforms.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Work within the SRM Production Support Team for handling day-to-day Production Support tickets.

2. Work closely with SRM Development and SRM QA Teams for following up defect tickets end-to-end.

3. Support and Troubleshoot of all SRM Production products.

4. Able to work in shift rotation.

5. Able to communicate and advise the ticket originator on narrowing down the Production issue based on input information such as Event Viewer logs and application logs, and lead to issue resolution.

 

Requirements

1. A good Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer System Engineering, Software Engineering, Management Information System or Business Computing.


2. Candidates should have working experience from 1 to 5 years in System Administration.


3. Fresh graduates with good honors degree are encouraged to apply.


4. Knowledge and experience of Operating System such as AIX, Linux, vSphere and Windows.


5. Understanding of SQL Statements.


6. Understanding of Web Technology or Web Services such as IBM Websphere.


7. Ability to comprehend and explain technical aspects of System issues.


8. Must be a team player with excellent inter-personal skills.


9. Must be a self-starter and highly motivated.


10. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


11. Ability to articulate a problem and translate it into a written report.


12. Excellent problem analysis, troubleshooting and resolution skills.


13. Good in strategic and tactical thinking/decision making execution on solving technical issues.


14. Excellent time management skills.


15. Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.


16. Passion for embarrassing new technology that is apparent.
