The role

You will be confident in your abilities and have prior, recent experience on large scale, high dollar value projects and have an up to date knowledge of the industry and the expectations involved. You will have to lead the construction team. You will be given full autonomy.

Duties

Our client is looking for a highly driven Project Director with strong focus on project delivery and profitability to be based in Selangor.

• Responsible for the full spectrum of project related matters. This will include but not limitedto, manpower assignment (sets targets for the team members and provide the necessarycoaching to further optimize performance), quality and productivity management, verify ofsubcontractor claims, welfare of site personnel.


• To liaise with clients, consultants, and local authorities of projects undertaken by the company.


• To monitor and make sure that all projects are performed in the most effective and efficient manner, identify new methodology and techniques of construction and recommend steps to prevent or minimize problems and hazards at sites.


• To review regularly all aspects of construction activities undertaken from implementation to completion of projects including final accounts and constantly ensure project cost is kept withinbudget.


• To review (together with contract manager) contract documents against tender documents and identify changes in the condition of contract.


• To review sub-contractors’ performance and evaluate progress of works and claims.


• To attend site meeting with consultants and clients


• To implement all policies, activities, procedures, instruction as relevant and required by the quality management system in order to strengthen the company’s position.


• To undertake any and all others duties and responsibilities as so instructed by the Management.


• To prepare and follow up the site cost control with a regular reporting to management.


• To prepare and issue weekly site report.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge within the Malaysian construction industry and must be able to show the following:

– History of ON SITE experience with high value projects

– Proven track record of building and developing project teams with strong leadership and communication skills at all levels.

– Ability to deliver according to plan, budget and quality; must have problem solving capabilities.

– Demonstrable ability to encourage and facilitate change and continuous improvement initiatives.

– Proven ability to influence, negotiate and build effective relationships with customers and internally across various departments.
